I am writing a book for boy writers. The audience will be roughly for boys grades 4-8. My book will include samples of boys’ writings and drawings. Here’s what I am looking for:
*excerpts from a writer’s notebook—entries, memories, thought-shots, lists, doodles, sketches, artifacts…
*fantasy or super-hero stories (short pieces)
*realistic bloody pieces—a hunting story, for example
*lively nonfiction
*brief essays or persuasive pieces
*emotional stories or poems

I want high quality writing that is strong, original, “out of the box.” It should be written by boys age 10 to 14, more or less. The writing should have voice. Humor is always a plus. The pieces must be short. Due to space limitations, I cannot use long, rambling pieces. One or two paragraphs are plenty.

I’m also looking for drawings or sketches of the things boys typically like to draw: monsters, dragons, warriors, battles, aliens, weapons, sharks, super heroes, sports, etc.  The sketches/drawings should be done on unlined paper, if possible, and should be black and white only.
